2209201 Introduction to Linguistics

INTRO LING

Definition and boundary of linguistics; history of linguistics: the relationship between linguistics and other sciences ; fundamental concepts of descriptive linguistics; comparative and historical linguistics.

 

2209303 Sounds and Sound System

SOUND SYSTEM

Mechanisms of speech sound production; sound system in various languages; sounds and meanings in words, sentences and utterances.

 

2209304 Grammatical System

GRAM SYSTEM

Concepts of words, phrases and sentences; word, phrase and s entence structures; parts of speech; grammatical categories; relationship of words in a phrase; relationship of phrases in a sentence; analysis of the grammatical system in intermediate-level data from various languages.

MEANING LANG

Definition of linguistic meaning; different types of lexical meaning; ap proaches in determining lexical meaning; semantic fields; synonymy, a ntonymy and homonymy.
