Occasional Program

The Thai Studies Program in English was first offered at the Masterís Degree level by the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University in 1991. It aims at providing an integrated knowledge of Thai Society and culture, and of the development of the Thai nation.

The first phase of the program having been successfully completed, the Thai Studies Center now feels that it is the right time to add another mission to the program- that of offering courses to those who are not interested in pursuing a degree program but would like to take some courses of interest to them and to study various aspects of this country beyond what is available in guide books and simple texts. Hence, from November 1995 onward, the Faculty of Arts began accepting occasional students to the program.

To join the program applicants need a Bachelorís Degree in any field. As there is a limit to the number of places available on each course, applicants should contact the Faculty of Arts as soon as possible. Applicants will be enrolled on the first come first serve basis. At the end of the semester participants receive a certificate of attendance from the Faculty of Arts, provided that they have attended no less than eighty percent of the classes. Please visit the Fees and Expenses page for the costs of attendance.
