Songphan (Teau)

Songphan (Teau) is an information scientist by training and a learner by heart. He serves as an Assistant Professor of Information Studies at the Department of Library Science, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. He holds Ph.D. in Information and Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  His doctoral dissertation explores information transfer across social worlds during the launch of 2006 coup d’etat in Thailand.

He currently teaches classes such as human-information interaction, database management, systematic thinking, evidence-based Q&A service, tools for digital humanities, and digital preservation. Among various personal and professional interests, his current research streams are leaning toward understanding and improving human-information interaction particularly in personal and collective context, managing intellectual property rights in digital age, and managing personal information and digital archives particularly in health and work settings.  Songphan is also interested in both Thai and western classical music, travel, painting, and photography.
