Abstract |
The study is meant to find out the time when length distinction of mid vowels e o and low vowels ... emerge in Thai as well as the factors for such emergence. It is found that the length distinction of vowel o emerged in the beginning of the Ratanakosin period, and the length distinction of vowels... and ... emerged in the Middle of the Ratanakosin period. As for the factors of the length distinction emergence, it is found that borrowing, especially from Pali and Sanskrit, was the important factor for the emergence of length distinction of e and o. As for the low vowels ...., new formations were the factor |

?ารวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อสันนิษฐานช่วงเวลาที่ความต่างด้านความสั้นยาวของสระกลาง e o และสระต่ำ ปรากฏในภาษาไทย และเพื่อค้นหาปัจจัยที่ทำให้เกิดความต่างของสระสั้นยาวกลุ่มนี้โดยใช้วิธีศึกษาเชิงประวัติและเชิงเปรียบเทียบ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ความต่างด้านความสั้นยาวของสระ e E o ปรากฎในภาษาไทยในระยะเวลาที่ต่างกัน คือ ความต่างด้านความสั้นยาวของสระ o ปรากฎอย่างชัดเจนในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น ส่วนความต่างด้านความสั้นยาวของสระ e E และ ปรากฎอย่างชัดเจนในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนกลางสำหรับปัจจัยที่ทำให้เกิดความต่างของสระสั้นยาวกลุ่มนี้พบว่า การยืมคำจากภาษาบาลีสันสฤตน่าจะเป็นสาเหตุสำคัญที่ทำให้มองเห็นความต่างของสระสั้นยาวกลุ่มกลาง e และ o และปัจจัยสำคัญที่น่าจะทำให้มองเห็นความต่างของสระสั้นยาวกลุ่มต่ำ E และ คือ การสร้างคำใหม่ในภาษาไทยโดยการเทียบแบบกับคำยืมภาษาเขมร |
