"The Cultural Radiation Effect of a University in Local Area: Taking Communication University of China as an Example"
With the strategy of Beijing Media' Corridor in Dingfuzhuang area in Beijing city, Communication University of China is playing a more and more important role in this process. As a leading university in media, CUC gives a significant effect on China's Media and still makes a great cultural radiation effect on local enterprises and communities. Recent year with the good advantages of media research and education from CUC, many cultural companies and clusters were established around CUC and gained a good economic benefit. This article includes some case studies on these companies and clusters to show how CUC give cultural radiation effect to attract these companies settled here and find the role of CUC play in this area during the cultural development. There are also some suggestions for universities on how to make good cultural effect on local social environment from the case studies of CUC.
Professor Fan Zhou is the Chief Editor of Reference of Cultural & Creative Industries which is the first magazine about creative industries in China. Fan has been a member providing reports on management and marketing strategy for several big enterprises. As one of the leading personnel of cultural Industries in China, 2008, Fan’s research focus is cultural policies and regional development of cultural industries. Besides research, Fan provided many reports for central and local governments in China in different level on how to develop cultural industries. Meanwhile, he was invited to give lectures and speeches on cultural industries in China and other countries, making a good contribution to promote cultural industries. |
