Her research touches upon a broad range of topics including decolonisation, ideology and self-imagery of the state, modernity, foreign policy, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), development and foreign aid. Following the completion of her PHD at the University College London in June 2023, Patcharaviral joined the department of history at Chulalongkorn University in the same year. Her doctoral thesis which is on the diplomatic relations between India and Thailand, focussing on their strategies to navigate the geopolitical divisions in the early Cold War, recently received the Humanities &amp; the Arts Highly Commended Prize 2023 from the Anglo-Thai Society.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the projects Patcharaviral is currently working on revolves around the circulation of scientific knowledge in early twentieth century, especially the case of Siamese students in British India and the subsequent forestry policies in Siam. This project is a collaboration with Dr Aleksandra Kaye (MPI-GEA) and Dr Tinakrit Sireerat (CMU). Parts of this have been presented at the AAS-in-Asia 2024 (Yogyakarta, Indonesia) and Circulating Knowledge: 20 Years On (Kjipuktuk\/Halifax, Canada).<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, Patcharaviral co-organised the special exhibition <strong><em>\u0e43\u0e19\u0e17\u0e23\u0e07\u0e08\u0e33 \u0e19\u0e33\u0e17\u0e32\u0e07\u0e2d\u0e31\u0e19\u0e23\u0e32\u0e07\u0e40\u0e25\u0e37\u0e2d\u0e19<\/em><\/strong> <em>&#8211; <\/em><em>A Trip Down Memory Lan<\/em><em>e<\/em> (28.03.25-01.05.25) at Museum Siam, Bangkok. This exhibition is an interdisciplinary collaboration delving into the presence and absence of memories, highlighting how both individual and collective memories significantly influence historical narratives and culture. This exhibition later travelled to Germany as A Trip Down Memory Lane in the Age of the Anthropocene, hosted at the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology (28.05.25 to 01.08.25).
