Her research includes the history of Sino-Thai and Sino-Southeast Asian interactions. At the Department of History, Wasana teaches everything pertaining to East Asia (including Taiwan and Mongolia). Her first monograph, The Crown and the Capitalists: The Ethnic Chinese and the Founding of the Thai Nation, was published with University of Washington Press in 2019. Wasana&#8217;s most recent book (co-authored with her father, Kovit Wongsurawat) is a Thai-language history textbook on Chinese history in the post-Mao era
