Background

History

   The Research Centre of Thai Language and Literature (CTLL) is one of the first research centres founded by Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University . The centre began in 1983 as a base where scholars all over the country discussed and shared their new findings on the Thai language and literature. It was also a focus of the centre to publicize these discoveries as well as other profound knowledge of Thai to set aside a number of fallacies and misconceptions of the Thai language and literature in society. Over the 17 years, the centre has held several national conferences and seminars as well as continuously published the Journal of the Thai Language and Literature. Due to the significant contributions to the nation’ s curriculum on thai, the centre was awarded an outstanding institute for cultural promotion and preservation from the Ministry of Education on the occasion of thai heritage Day in the year 1994.
