{"id":401,"date":"2018-01-31T23:08:34","date_gmt":"2018-01-31T16:08:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.arts.chula.ac.th\/libsci\/en\/?page_id=401"},"modified":"2018-09-14T09:47:40","modified_gmt":"2018-09-14T02:47:40","slug":"applynow","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.arts.chula.ac.th\/libsci\/en\/applynow\/","title":{"rendered":"Graduate Programs in Information Studies (GPIS) Application"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>CHECKLISTS<\/h3>\n<p>Please prepare the following documents, preferably in PDF format (except a passport photo), prior to proceeding to the application form.<\/p>\n<h4>For all applicants (both M.A. and Ph.D.):<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>A recent passport photo<\/li>\n<li>A copy of degree certificates (For an applicant who is currently studying, a formal letter from the institution confirming an expected date of completion is required.)<\/li>\n<li>A copy of academic transcripts (in English)<\/li>\n<li>A copy of valid identification card (Thai applicants)\/passport (foreign applicants)<\/li>\n<li>A curriculum vitae<\/li>\n<li>Two (2) letters of recommendations from faculty members and\/or employers<\/li>\n<li>A statement of purpose (800-1,000 words)<\/li>\n<li>The recent result of one of the following English proficiency tests taken within two years and must be valid on the date for admission application\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">TOEFL (PBT) \u2265 550<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">TOEFL (iBT) \u2265 79<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">IELTS \u2265 6.0<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">CU-TEP \u2265 75<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Exemptions from English proficiency requirement will be considered for applicants who have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>studied in an English-taught program in an institution approved by the Office of the Civil Service Commission (For more information, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/203.21.42.34\/acc\/\">OCSC website<\/a> [in Thai]).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>For Ph.D. program applicants:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>A research proposal (3,000 \u2013 5,000 words) including the title of the research project, the background of the study indicating the importance of the study, critical analysis of current literature, and a sketch plan of data collection and analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p><u>Any falsification of application information or fraud documents will be proceed to legal action and permanent termination of student status, if the applicant is already admitted.\u00a0 All copies must be certified and signed by the applicant.\u00a0Original or printed copies may be requested after an applicant is accepted to the program.<\/u><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>APPLICATION FEE<\/h3>\n<p>An\u00a0<strong>application fee (1,000 THB for all applicant)<\/strong>\u00a0is required to complete the application process. \u00a0There are two payment options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>credit card<\/b><br \/>\nThe credit card payment is included in the application form. \u00a0Please be sure to prepare a valid credit card prior to proceeding to the application.<\/li>\n<li><b>bank transfer<\/b><br \/>\nPlease complete the transfer process prior to proceeding the application.\u00a0 All transfer fees must be covered by the applicant.
