The followings include the details about the admission process.<\/p>\n<h3>Qualifications of applicants<\/h3>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 An applicant must meet one of the following academic qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Earn a Master\u2019s degree in any related fields which are approved by the Department\u2019s Committee on Graduate Programs in Information Studies<\/li>\n<li>Earn a Bachelor\u2019s degree with the honours in any related fields which are approved by the Department\u2019s Committee on Graduate Programs in Information Studies<\/li>\n<li>Study in the last semester at a Bachelor\u2019s or higher level and be expected to complete an eligible degree in any related fields which are approved by the Department\u2019s Committee on Graduate Programs in Information Studies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 An applicant must have one of the English language proficiency test scores which must be valid for two years from the date of the exam:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>TOEFL (Paper-based Test: PBT) with a minimum of 550<\/li>\n<li>TOEFL (Internet-based Test: iBT) with a minimum of 79<\/li>\n<li>IELTS with a minimum of 6.0<\/li>\n<li>CU-TEP with a minimum of 75<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If an applicant holds an international degree from a university certified by the Office of the Civil Service Commission, there is no need to submit the English language proficiency test scores.<\/p>\n<h3>Required documents for all applications<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>A completed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arts.chula.ac.th\/libsci\/en\/applynow\/\">online application form<\/a><\/li>\n<li>A passport-style phot<\/li>\n<li>A proof of application fee payment<\/li>\n<li>A photocopy of identification card or passport with verification<\/li>\n<li>A photocopy of transcripts with verification<\/li>\n<li>A valid copy of English proficiency test scores with verification<\/li>\n<li>Two letters of recommendation from an applicant\u2019s employers and\/or university instructors<\/li>\n<li>A 800 \u2013 1,000-word statement of purpose indicating an applicant\u2019 reasons for studying in this program, study plan, and goals after graduation<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Additional document for doctoral program applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A 3,000 \u2013 5,000-word research proposal<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>Application schedule starts from September 15, 2018 to October <\/strong><strong>31<\/strong><strong>, 2018<\/strong><\/h2>\n<table width=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"196\"><strong>Method of admission<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"211\"><strong>Interview date<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"273\"><strong>Channel<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"196\">Interview<\/td>\n<td width=\"211\">November 8-15, 2018<\/td>\n<td width=\"273\">Via online application system<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>All required and additional documents, including the English language proficiency test scores, must be directly submitted to the Department of Library Science no later than <strong>November 2, 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>An application without the above mentioned documents will not be considered for an interview.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expected Enrollment Numbers<\/strong><strong>:<br \/>\n<\/strong>10 \u00a0students for Masters program and 5 students for a doctoral program<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notification of eligible candidate for Interview<\/strong><strong>:<br \/>\n<\/strong>November 5, 2018 (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arts.chula.ac.th\/libsci\/ma-phd\/\">https:\/\/www.arts.chula.ac.th\/libsci\/ma-phd\/<\/a> and email)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notification of admission:<br \/>\n<\/strong>November 22, 2018 (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arts.chula.ac.th\/libsci\/ma-phd\/\">https:\/\/www.arts.chula.ac.th\/libsci\/ma-phd\/<\/a> and email)<\/p>\n<h3>How to apply<\/h3>\n<p>Complete the application form and submit documents online at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.arts.chula.ac.th\/libsci\/en\/applynow\/\">www.arts.chula.ac.th\/libsci\/en\/applynow\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For further information on qualifications of applicants, please contact:<\/p>\n<p>Asst Prof Somsak Sriborisutsakul, PhD<br \/>\nDepartment of Library Science, Faculty of Arts<br \/>\n8th Floor, Borumratchakumaree Building<br \/>\nChulalongkorn University<br \/>\nBangkok, Thailand 10330<br \/>\nTel: (66)0-2218-4817, (66)0-2218-4814<br \/>\nFax: (66) 0-2218-4818<br \/>\nEmail: libsci@chula.ac.th; somsak.sr@chula.ac.th<br \/>\nWebsite : <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arts.chula.ac.th\/libsci\/ma-phd\/\">https:\/\/www.arts.chula.ac.th\/libsci\/ma-phd\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The admission to our brand new graduate programs for the 2nd semester (January 2019) is now open until October 31, 2018.
