Dr.Songphan Choemprayong, our department chair, visited multiple cities in Australia to presented his works on language preservation, knowledge management, and bibliographic cataloging standards during October 18-29, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 18, 2019, Dr.Choemprayong was invited by the School of Media, Creative Arts, and Social Inquiry, Curtin University in Perth in give a seminar talk entitled “Documenting Moklen language in southern Thailand: Roles of information professionals in preserving language at risk<\/em>.” This talk is a part of celebration activities for the year of indigenous languages in Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His talk reports an ongoing collaborative effort to preserve and document Moklen langage in the southern part of Thailand. Led by Dr.Pittayawat Pittayaporn, this project is collaborated between Department of Library Science and Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University. The audiences include faculty members, researchers, and students from Curtin University and elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, he attended the 82th Annual Meeting of Association for Information Science and Technology<\/a> (ASIS&T) in Melbourne from October 19-23, 2019. He co-presented a paper on “Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) for active knowledge sharing in IT consulting enterprises: A feasibility study<\/em>” with Ms.Nattakan Klanwaree, a graduate from Master’s program in Technopreneurship and Innovation Management, Chulalongkorn University. During October 28-29, 2019, Dr.Choemprayong attended Research Applications, Information and Library Studies (RAILS 2019<\/a>) Conference at Charles Sturt University, Canberra Campus. He gave a presentation on “Examining the Thai bibliographic metadata experience<\/em>” with Dr.Hollie White from Curtin University, Perth, Australia.
