Library services have been continuously challenged by the dynamics of sociotechnical and individual influences. Therefore, library services must be designed and improved iteratively to address these constant changes. Iterative design, one of the major principles of service design, can be adopted to help libraries develop and implement their products and services. This approach arranges all design processes in a non-linear sequence. The designers should be able to go back to any earlier step as soon as they discover new problems. Inexpensive, quick, and effortless prototype development and testing becomes a critical assessment method to ensure that the design is responsive to user feedback. At the same time, the feedback received from the prototype testing must be focused, reliable, and useful. Roles of prototype development and testing as assessment methods are highlighted in this chapter. Since the design of library services are multifaceted and complex, challenges of iteration design in libraries, as well as approaches to facilitate efficient iteration design, are addressed. Recommendations and case studies of the iteration design process in libraries are also presented.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
