Project for the Translation and Study of the Tipataka Scriptures

The International Tipitaka Hall in the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University , has initiated the first project for the translation and study of the Tipitaka Scriptures, “Namo Tri Saranakhom”, in tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the sixtieth anniversary of his accession to the throne. This project aims at translating and studying the gist of the Tipitaka Scriptures that forms the basic foundation for understanding the principles of the Lord Buddha’s Teachings. This will lead to the application of the Teachings to real life to be of most benefit to individuals and to the country. The project will also serve as a way to hand down the Tipitaka and continue its study in future generations.

The First Volume:

Namo Tri Saranakhom

The study and translation follow the Tipitaka study of Theravadh Buddhism. The translator has completed the translation and compilation of twelve Pali doctrimes, a number of which had not yet been translated into Thai. The translation of statements, comment and sub-comments is all new.
