Special Lectures to Promote Virtues and Ethics
 

   The International Tipitaka Hall offers a lecture on “The Mind Strengthened by Wisdom and Concentration” every Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. It also responds to requests from different segments; for example, in providing a special lecture for one hundred students enrolled in “Buddha Dhamma in the Tipitaka” class, and for one hundred and fifty in-coming students to the Faculty of Sports Science, who enrolled in the “Ideal Graduates” class.

     
     
     On January 20, 2006 , the International Tipitaka Hall, the Students’ Affairs Section and the Italian Section invited Phra Ajarn Chantapalo, Abbot of Santachittaram Temple in Italy , to give a lecture in English for students and the general public. The guest speaker also lectured in Italian to students in the Italian Section.
     
    Students in “Ideal Graduates I” (taught by Asst. Prof Chitsomanas Siwadith), “Ideal Graduates II” (taught by Assoc. Prof Mai Ratanawararak) and “Ideal Thai Graduates” attended a special lecture by Mae Chee Vimuttiyaram, “Under the Sovereignty of a Great King,” when visiting the exhibition which is co-organized by the International Tipitaka hall.
     
    On July 21, 2006, the Department of Comparative Literature invited Mae Chee Vimuttiyaram, Director of the Working Committee of the International Tipitaka Hall, to lead a discussion with students in the Department to make them realize the significance of virtues, ethics and professional behavior in Thai society in the hope of creating quality graduates who are not only knowledgeable but are also virtuous in keeping with the university’s motto, “Knowledge Enhanced by Virtues”.
