From the airport to the city

Bangkok is served by two international airports: (1) Suvarnabhumi International, home to full-service carriers and most transcontinental flights, and (2) Don Mueang International, the hub for low-cost carriers serving domestic and regional routes. Both airports are connected to the city via a railway system.

Traveling to and from Suvarnabhumi International

· By Rail

This is the most affordable and efficient mode of transportation. After about 25 minutes of train ride on the Airport Rail Link, travelers entering the city can connect to major metro lines at Makkasan Station (for MRT Petchaburi on the Blue Line), or at Phaya Thai Station (for BTS Phaya Thai on the Green Line). A single journey costs no more than 45 baht.

· By Car

Served by a major highway, traveling between the city center and Suvarnabhumi by car can be quick when there is no traffic. Taxi queues can be found on the Ground Floor of the airport while the airport limousines can be booked right by the passengers’ exit in the Arrival Hall. Please note that extra charges may apply if your journey to the city requires passages through the tollways.

Traveling to and from Don Mueang International

· By Rail

Don Mueang is served by the Red Line, whose terminus, Bangsue Central Station, connects travelers to the Blue Line for further journeys towards downtown. The journey to Bangsue takes around 20 minutes and cost 33 baht.

· By Car

Don Mueang is served by a major highway and a tollway, but both are notorious for heavy traffic throughout the day. Both terminals at Don Mueang offer a taxi queue located right by the curbside of the arrival halls. Please note that extra charges may apply if your journey to the city requires passages through the tollways.

To the campus

Two major metro stations provide access to Chulalongkorn University: BTS Siam (on the Green Line) and MRT Sam Yan (on the Blue Line).

· From BTS Siam

After arrival at BTS Siam Station, you should take Exit 6 and walk south along Henri Dunant Road. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes. The entrance to the University is on the right after the entrance to Triam Udom Suksa School. See Map 3: Route from Siam Station to the Faculty of Arts (link: https://goo.gl/maps/6HP4fVYgfSsUmApq8).

There are also University shuttle buses that will take you right to the campus. From BTS Siam, take Exit 2 to the shuttle bus stops in front of Lido Multiplex. Alternatively, take Exit 6 for another bus stop located at Chaloem Phao Intersection.

Take shuttle bus Line No. 1 (See Map 5). Once the bus enters the university campus, disembark at the second stop or ask students or the driver to help you find the Faculty of Arts.

· From MRT Sam Yan

Sam Yan Station is right next to the university. Take Exit 2 to Chamchuri Square. From there, you are already in the University premises and can take a 10 minutes walk to the Faculty of Arts. See Map 4: Route from Sam Yan Station to the Faculty of Arts (link: https://goo.gl/maps/L6XDD9Uk8encF2u16).

· By Bus

There are a number of public buses that stop at the university on four roads surrounding the campus (more information: http://www.bmta.co.th/en/bus-lines).
