On Friday, March 15, representatives of the Faculty of Arts joined Chulalongkorn University
President, Professor Bundhit Euaarporn, in welcoming His Excellency Evgeny Tomikhin
the Ambassador of Russia to Thailand.
The main purposes of the meeting were to discuss the activities for the Center for Russian Studies at
Chulalongkorn University and explore possible collaborations between Chulalongkorn University and Russia.
In order to increase the visibility of Russia at Chulalongkorn University, the Ambassador wished to push forward future
collaborative projects to make the Center more active both in Arts and Culture and Technology.
His Excellency’s intention was shared by the Chulalongkorn University President. Suggested projects included students
and staff exchange, participating in Chulalongkorn University’s Study Abroad Fair and Chulalongkorn University
International Cultural Month, inviting Russian scholars and artists in performing arts,
and establishing online sources on Russian language and culture.
