On Wednesday, March 19, 2019, the Faculty of Arts welcomed Professor Miki Shibata, PhD, and Associate Professor Naoe Kawamoto from the School of Integrated Arts and Sciences, Hiroshima University. The meeting concerned the collaborations between their Department of Global Studies and the Faculty of Arts’ BALAC Program as the two have many features in common. Some details include organization and operation of the Program in Integrated Global Studies and the BALAC Program and possible future activities such as student exchange and Summer Programs.
Led by Associate Professor Suradech Chotiudompant, the representatives from the Faculty of Arts included
Assistant Professor Nirada Chitrakara, PhD, Assistant Professor Penpisa Srivoranart, PhD, Permtip Buaphet, PhD, and
Porranee Singpliam, PhD. The meeting was concluded with a lunch reception hosted by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts,
Professor Kingkarn Thepkanchana.
Although the Faculty of Arts has been connected with Hiroshima University for several years,
this is the first time the delegates from the Department of Integrated Global Studies (IGS) visited us.
This is because the IGS was just recently established in 2018. It is hoped that alliance between the two institutions will be a promising one due to their shared mission in globalizing the graduates.
