About us

Arunodaya is a Khasi-English-Hindi-Thai online dictionary. It is a quadrilingual theme-based dictionary consisting of approximately 3,000 words commonly used in daily life or related to culture, society, and economy of the Khasi people of Meghalaya State, India. Each word consists of a Khasi word with definitions in English, Hindi, and Thai.

This online dictionary is a part of a research project funded by Thailand Science Research Research and Innovation (TSRI).  The project is a collaboration between Chulalongkorn University and North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) with additional collaboration from National Electronics Computer Technology Center (NECTEC).

Arunodaya will serve as a foundation in the study of linguistics, artistic, cultural, and social connectivity between Thailand and Northeast India, which will in turn enhance diplomatic, economic, and commercial relations between India and ASEAN countries.
