Official launch of the Chulalongkorn Linguistics Fieldwork Archive

We are delighted to announce the official launch of the Chulalongkorn Linguistics Fieldwork Archive, a collaborative endeavor between the Center of Excellence in Southeast Asian Linguistics and the Humanities Information Center at the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University.

This digital repository is dedicated to field linguistics research, providing a secure, permanent online collection of linguistic data contributed by the Chulalongkorn University linguistics community. Our inaugural collection features the “Theraphan Luangthongkum Collection,” a tribute to Professor Emeritus Dr. Theraphan Luangthongkum, a distinguished linguist specializing in phonetics, linguistic fieldwork, lexicography, and the study of minority languages in Southeast Asia. Her work encompasses various language families, including Austroasiatic, Kra-Dai, Sino-Tibetan, Hmong-Mien, Austronesian, and Tibeto-Burman languages. The collection includes 163 items, including handwritten fieldnotes spanning several decades.

Researchers are invited to access and utilize these materials for non-profit purposes while adhering to proper citation guidelines. Moreover, we are excited to expand the archive to include field materials from other distinguished linguists at Chulalongkorn in the future. For inquiries or suggestions, kindly contact us at chulaseal@gmail.com.

The archive can be accessed here.
