On June 10, 2016, the Faculty Dean welcomed Dr Amanda Morris, Dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts, LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, and Professor Ceri Sherlock, Chair of School of Drama, Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (HKAPA), in their visit to the Faculty and the Sodsai Pantoomkomol Center for Dramatic Arts. The purpose of their visit was to watch the Dream Response performance, in which students from LASALLE, HKAPA, and Chulalongkorn University, actively participated in creating a theatrical piece inspired by William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream under close supervision of theater experts from the three institutes, namely Tony Wong from HKAPA, Adam Marple from LASALLE, and Associate Professor Charunee Hongcharu from Chulalongkorn University.
The Dream Response project was considered a great success, as it managed to bring 18 students from three different countries to stay and work together for 11 days. The students learnt different theatrical techniques and skills from international experts and worked out the scripts together through group discussion, extensive rehearsals, and consultations with the theater experts.
