Applicant’s Eligibility

  1. Applicant must be an academic staff at the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University.
  2. Non-Thai applicant must attain approval from director/supervisor before applying.
  3. Applicant must act as the primary researcher and must undertake this research while in office.
  4. Applicant must have already completed the process of previous research for which grant or financial support was provided by the Faculty of Arts.
  5. Applicant has never breached the Faculty of Arts grant contract or scholarship condition. Research grant can be applied only once at a time.

Types of Eligible Research Project

  1. Individual Research Project (academic article, research)
    Actual amount, but not exceeding THB 100,000.00 (within 2 years)
  2. Group Research Project (academic article, research)
    Actual amount, but not exceeding THB 150,000.00 (within 2 years)
  3. Manuscript and University Textbook Project
    Actual amount, but not exceeding THB 50,000.00 (within 2 years)
  4. Course Material Project
    Actual amount, but not exceeding THB 15,000.00 (within 1 year)
  5. Supplementary Course Material Project
    Actual amount, but not exceeding THB 3,000.00 (within 1 year)

Grant for Research/ Academic Presentation Abroad (for Lecturers)

  1. Applicant must not receive funding from sources outside the university. Applicant will receive financial support not exceeding 50% of the actual expenses, which should be within the amount of THB 60,000.00 (duration according to budget year).
  2. Applicant who has received financial support for travel expenses from sources outside the university will be offered a grant to cover accommodation expenses in the total amount not exceeding THB 30,000.00 (duration according to budget year).
  3. Applicant who has received stipend from sources outside the university will be offered a grant to cover only the actual travel expenses (economy-class rate) in the total amount not exceeding THB 30,000.00 (duration according to budget year).
  4. Applicant who has received financial support for travel and accommodation from sources outside the university will be offered a grant for the actual expenses in the total amount not exceeding THB 15,000.00 (duration according to budget year).

Grant for Research Presentation in Thailand (for Lecturers)
According to the criteria set by the Faculty of Arts, applicant is eligible for a reimbursement in the amount of 50% of the actual expenses not exceeding THB 60,000.00

Scholarship for Students

  1. Grant for Paper Presentation Abroad (for Doctorate and Masters Students)
    • For Doctoral students, a grant not exceeding THB 60,000.00
    • For Masters students, a grant not exceeding THB 40,000.00
  2. Grant for Academic Presentation Abroad (for Undergraduate Students)
    According to the criteria set by the Faculty of Arts, applicant is eligible for a reimbursement of actual expenses not exceeding THB 20,000.00

Grant for Foreign Language Publications

  • Applicant’s Eligibility
    Applicant must be a full-time lecturer at the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University.
  • Rates and Criteria
  1. Only one scholarship will be awarded to each research.
  2. Applicant must act as the primary researcher. The research must be published in journals indexed in SCOPUS or ISI databases, or published in book form (written in foreign language). Each publication will be granted THB 15,000.00
    – In the case that the applicant acts as co-writer/co-researcher, the grant for each publication will not exceed THB 7,500.00
  3. Applicant who acts as the primary researcher for publication in journals which are not indexed in SCOPUS or ISI databases but which are indexed in the Thailand Research Fund’s list of approved Social Sciences and Humanities journals will be granted THB 10,000.00 for each research.
    – In the case that the applicant acts as co-writer/co-researcher, the grant for each publication will not exceed THB 5,000.00
  4. Applicant who acts as the primary researcher for publication published in an edited volume will be granted THB 10,000.00 for each research, provided that the research is qualified as follows:
    – published entirely in foreign language
    – officially edited and reviewed
    – peer-reviewed (evidence for peer review must be provided)
