On DSC_4940April 1, 2016, the Faculty invited the Thai-United States Educational Foundation (TUSEF) to hold an orientation for students and faculty members interested in applying for Fulbright scholarships. The talk was led by TUSEF Executive Director Benjawan Ubonsri and Junior Program Officer Supawaree Patravanich. Two successful candidates for the Fulbright grants who graduated from the Faculty, Bancha Rattanabantuwong and Pateera Chaladmanakul, also joined the talk and shared their experience as Fulbright grantees.

  1. Among a wide array of grants, the scholarships that may be of interest to us are as follows.
    The Fulbright Thai Graduate Scholarship (or the so-called Open Competition Scholarship), in which successful candidates will be granted an opportunity to conduct their postgraduate study in the US in a wide variety of fields. Applicants must be Thai and have completed all requirements of the BA by the time of the interview, with the GPA of 3.0 or above. Up to seven grants are available each year and the application period is usually scheduled from January and April.
  2. The Junior Research Scholarship Program (JRS), in which successful candidates will be able to conduct a non-degree study in the US for six months to gain additional research experience as a part of doctoral dissertation requirements. Applicants must be Thai pursuing a doctoral study in a Thai university. Recommendations are needed from both his/her employee and home university. Written confirmation from a US professor at the host institution is also necessary. The application period is scheduled from June to September each year.
  3. The Thai Visiting Scholar Program (TVS), in which the successful candidates will be granted an opportunity to spend three to six months in a partner university in the US, attending lectures, conducting research, or undertaking special academic-related projects in any fields. Applicants must be Thai and possess a doctorate in academic background with at least 10 years of teaching or research experience at the university level. The application period is annually scheduled from June to September.
