On Thursday May 12, 2016, faculty staff from National Pingtung University of Science and  Technology, Taiwan, visited the Faculty of Arts to cement the connection between the two
universities after a Memorandum of Agreement had been signed last year. The purpose of their visit is to propose collaborating projects such as student/faculty staff exchange, joint conference, and joint research. They are especially looking forward to having their faculty staff invited for lectures or a Thai language expert to conduct a Thai language class. They are also promoting a one-week Chinese language camp for international students who would like to practice Mandarin and immerse themselves into Chinese culture. Their Department of Modern Languages is also interested in joint research in discourse analysis, pragmatics, corpus linguistics, English as a Second Language, Computer-Assisted Language Learning, and any technology involving language studies.National Pingtung University of Science and Technology has been working with the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University in the fields of agriculture and food science. Despite their reputation in science and technology, they would very much like to expand their horizon in the field of modern languages.
