Exchange Students
If you are studying at one of our partner universities, you are eligible to enroll for one semester or one academic year at the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University as an exchange student. An exchange student will obtain an academic transcript but they will not receive a degree from CU. To participate in the exchange program, you are required to contact your home university to see if you meet the requirements. If you do, they will nominate you as a prospective exchange student. The nomination will be sent to the International Affairs, the Faculty of Arts at Chulalongkorn University. The official results will be sent to your home university. Exchange students will be exempt from tuition fees.
Visiting students
If you are not studying at one of our partner universities, you are eligible to enroll for one semester or one academic year at the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University as a visiting student and you have to pay tuition fees.

Admission Requirements
- Applicants must have completed at least 2 semesters at the home university (for undergraduates).
- Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- If applicants are non-native English speakers and choose to study in our international programs (e.g. Balac Program), they must have one of the following English proficiency test scores:
- A minimum score of 79 on the internet-based test (iBT) of TOEFL
- A minimum score between 6.0 – 6.5 on the IELTS.
Application Documents
- A completed application form
- A nomination letter from the home institution (for exchange students only)
- Two letters of recommendation
- A copy of official transcript of academic records (to be issued by the home institution)
- A copy of English proficiency score record (for non-native speakers of English)
- A photocopy of your passport
- One color photo (with blue background) taken no more than six months in a proper attire, signed on the reverse side.

For Exchange Student
- The applicant’s home university nominate students to the Faculty of Arts via email.
- The applicant must submit application form and relevant documents via Google form.
- The department or academic program at the Faculty of Arts will review the application and nominate successful applicants to the Faculty Administrative Board for approval.
- Once approved, the Section of International Affairs will contact successful applicants directly via email and will issues two documents (the letter of acceptance and the certificate of admission) for visa application.

For Visiting student
- The applicant must submit application form and relevant documents via Google form.
- The department or academic program at the Faculty of Arts will review the application and nominate successful applicants to the Faculty Administrative Board for approval.

Visa Matters
The Faculty of Arts will issue a letter of acceptance and a certificate of admission for an international student to apply for a non-immigrant visa (category ED) at a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in their home country before entering Thailand.

Accommodation

Health and Accident Insurance
Chulalongkorn University provides accident insurance for exchange/visiting students; however, it is advisable that you purchase a health Insurance plan in advance to make sure your stay in Bangkok is pleasant.
Each international student who enrolls in courses for at least one whole semester will be required to pay for Chula group health insurance fee of 2,000 THB per academic year, covering for both IPD and OPD patients.
Payment method: CU NEX Application
In case of health issue, student can visit Chulalongkorn University Health Service at 2FL. Chamchuri 9 Building by using student ID card or insurance card and visit Insurance’s network hospital lists by using insurance card.

Note: In the case that students visit the hospitals not listed in the insurance’s network, the medical expenses must be paid by the students themselves. In the case that the students have to claim the compensation fee after they have paid for the medical expenses, the students must have a bank account in a Thai bank. The compensation fee cannot be paid in cash or via visa money transfer.
