Outbound Student Exchange

Application Period

For Fall Semester (August – December): Around February 

For Spring Semester (January – May): Around August

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a student of Chulalongkorn University and must not be on academic probation during one’s semester or year abroad. 
  • Applicants must have studied at Chulalongkorn University for at least 2 semesters and have a GPAX of at least 2.75. 
  • Applicants must return and study at Chulalongkorn University for at least 1 semester after studying abroad. 

Documents

  1. A completed application form 
  2. 2 reference letters (hard copies only)  
  3. An up-to-date transcript of academic records (students should have 2.75 GPAX at a minimum in order to apply for the program) 
  4. A proficiency score record of English or of the language taught in the classes you plan to enroll in (if any) 
  5. A copy of your passport 
  6. Study plan/description of academic interests (in English or the language taught in the classes you plan to enroll in) 
  7. CV 
  8. An 1-inch-colored photo taken no more than six months in polite attire or a civil servant’s uniform, attached to the application form 

Application Process

  • Students must review partner universities’ factsheets for specific requirements before submitting their applications. The information will be available around mid-January.  
  • Students can choose up to three universities in their application.  
  • Submit the application form and required documents to International Division, Faculty of Arts at exchange.artschula@gmail.com 
  • The submission must be made as a scanned PDF file and compiled as one file. Except for the two reference letters, there is no need to submit the hard copies of the documents. 
  • The signed and sealed reference letters must be dropped off at the Dean’s Office.  
  • Should the number of applicants exceed the number allocated by partner universities, the Faculty reserves the right to make a final decision based on the applicants’ study plan, CV, GPAX, language requirement and reference letters.    
  • For some universities that require an application through their online portal, the Faculty will send the students necessary information once the decision is made. 
  • The authorities will send the details of candidates to partner universities in line with the timeframe designated by each university. 
  • Once approved, students will be notified, and letters of notification will be given for their visa application. 
  • Once officially accepted, students may buy flight tickets, travel insurance, and health insurance. 
  • Availability of accommodation is dependent upon the resources of each university. 

Process for Outbound Exchange Student

  • Prior to departure, all outbound exchange students must submit the following documents to the International Affairs Committee and the Faculty Administrative Board: 
    • Credit transfer request document with information on the courses for which the students want to transfer the credits and their equivalent courses in the Faculty of Arts curriculum 
    • Credit conversion document of the partner university that has been approved by the International Affairs Committee 
    • Academic calendar of the partner university 
  • The students are required to sign the acknowledge form to confirm their request. 
  • The Faculty will issue a document for the students to submit to the course instructors at the partner university.  
  • The students’ credit transfer request documents will be reviewed and approved by the International Affairs Committee and the Faculty Administrative Board. 
  • If the students wish to or need to change the course(s) that they are taking at the partner university, they must resubmit the credit transfer request document to the International Affairs Committee and the Faculty Administrative Board at least one month before the final exam of the partner university.  
  • Once the semester is completed and the students have returned to Thailand, the students must submit a copy of their transcript and the credit conversion document to the International Affairs Committee and the Faculty Administrative Board for approval.
