BALAC-SILS – Double Degree Program
- 4 semesters at BALAC, Chulalongkorn University
- 4 semesters at SILS, Waseda University
- Students need to earn (a minimum of) 80 credits at BALAC before departing for Japan.
- Students will receive 2 diplomas from Chulalongkorn University and Waseda University.
CRITERIA FOR APPLYING
- Only 2nd year students can apply and only in the 1st semester.
- GPAX 3.00 (minimum)
- Should have had 57 credits (by year 2, semester 1; must have taken or are currently taking at least 2 GEN ED courses by the time of application)
- Japanese language study before departure not required
- Must be working toward either Global or Media concentrations in BALAC
*BALAC selection committee will check applicants’ academic records. Students are encouraged to enroll in mandatory courses and Gen Ed courses prior to their departure for Japan.

BALAC-HASS – Double Degree Program *NEW*
BALAC, Chulalongkorn University and Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, The University of Queensland
- 5 semesters at BALAC (2.5 years)
- 3 semesters at UQ (1.5 years)
- Students must complete a minimum of 105 credits in the BALAC Program before departure to UQ.
- Students will study 24 units at UQ.*
*2 unit bearing course at UQ = 1 BALAC 3 credit bearing subject.
CRITERIA FOR APPLYING
- Students wishing to pursue the DDP with UQ should specify their wish by the end of year 1 semester 1 and confirm by the first week of year 3 semester 1.
- Minimum GPAX of 2.75 is required.
- Must have earned all 105 credits (all mandatory GEN ED courses included) by year 3 semester 1.
- Must be working toward either Global or Media concentration at BALAC Program.
AT FACULTY OF ARTS, HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES, UQ
- BALAC’s Media cultures concentration students will continue their studies in the Bachelor of Arts program majoring in Writing and Media and Digital Cultures.
- BALAC’s Global cultures concentration students will continue their studies in the Bachelor of Arts program with an extended major in Peace and Conflict Studies.
- Students will complete 24 units during their 3 semesters at the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, UQ.
- Students will be provided with a UQ Study Planner based on their BALAC concentration.
TUITION FEE
- From year 3 semester 1 onward:
**To be paid at Chula 21,000 THB (for Thai students)
**To be paid at Chula 76,000 THB (for non-Thai students)
**This already includes 70,000 THB of Chulalongkorn University fee waiver.
