Kirinjishi Dance from Tottori, Japan

On Monday, February 3, 2020, the Faculty of Arts welcomed representatives from Tottori Prefecture, Japan, to a performing arts exchange event.  As part of the Tottoti tradition promotion and conservation, a group of visitors from Tottori led by Kadowaki Seiji brought to the Faculty of Arts the Kirinjishi Dance.  The Kirinjishi is a motif of Kirin, the Holy Beast which has the gold color head and a gold horn. The dance is performed at annual festivals in eastern Tottori.  Prefecture is located along the Sea of Japan coast in the Chugoku Region.

As exchange performances, the Faculty of Arts presented Thai traditional music and dance performances by the students from our Thai Music and Thai Dance Clubs.  The event was well attended by the Faculty of Arts students and staff.
