On Thursday October 17, 2019, the Department of Library Science’s BA and MA programs, Bachelor of Arts (Major in Information Studies) and Master of Arts in Information Studies, was granted accreditation from CILIP, (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals). The assessment was conducted during October 16-17, 2019.
This accreditation certifies that Information Studies at the Faculty of Arts has attained a level that meets one of the highest international standards for professional information education. This will help with students’ enrollment decisions and the graduates’ hiring opportunities. The assessment will also pave the way to self-reflection and self-definition on our side which will lead to future improvement.

To serve the needs for information in the fast changing world, the programs at the Department were strategically organized to meet the students’ needs and the requirements of the highly demanded practices in the library, archive, and museum sector.
