On Monday, January 27, 2020, the Faculty of Arts welcomed a team of staff from AFS Intercultural Programs led by Suchart Sangngarm and Monnarin Jirasakul. The purpose of their visit was to explore possible foreign language teaching collaboration. As AFS is dispatching students to various countries all over the world, they believe that the Faculty of Arts could assist them with foreign language classes, especially those in Spanish, French, German, and Chinese. In the past, the Faculty of Arts organized an intensive course for them in Spanish language and culture. The AFS hope that classes with similar nature for different languages might be offered as well. They also need a class on Argentinian Spanish which is distinctively different from other dialects of Spanish. With regards to the English language which is considered a given foreign language proficiency for Thai students, the AFS hope that the Faculty of Arts would consider a plan to offer a preparation class for Eltis Exam which is a standardized test for exchange students.
Due to the needs to globalize the young generation, the demand for exchange programs is growing. At the moment, nearly a thousand Thai students all over the country have been joining the AFS program each year.
