เมื่อวันที่ 16-17 ตุลาคม 2562 ภาควิชาบรรณารักษศาสตร์ได้มีโอกาสต้อนรับผู้ตรวจประเมินหลักสูตรจาก สถาบันรับรองมาตรฐานวิชาชีพห้องสมุดและสารสนเทศแห่งสหราชอาณาจักร (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals – CILIP, United Kingdom) คือ Dr Carolynn Rankin และ Helen Berry ซึ่งการตรวจประเมินในครั้งนี้ปรากฏว่า หลักสูตรอักษรศาสตรบัณฑิต วิชาเอกสารสนเทศศึกษา (หลักสูตรภาษาไทย) และหลักสูตรอักษรศาสตรมหาบัณฑิต สาขาสารสนเทศศึกษา (หลักสูตรภาษาอังกฤษ) ได้ผ่านการรับรองคุณภาพตามหลักเกณฑ์มาตรฐานของ CILIP, UK โดยมีผลตั้งแต่วันที่ 17 ตุลาคม 2562 จนถึงวันที่ 16 ตุลาคม 2567
ทั้งนี้ บัณฑิตและมหาบัณฑิตที่สำเร็จการศึกษาจากทั้งสองหลักสูตรสามารถมั่นใจได้ว่าจะได้รับการศึกษาที่ทัดเทียมกับผู้เรียนในสหราชอาณาจักรทุกประการ นอกจากนี้ยังมีโอกาสปฏิบัตงานด้านสารสนเทศและห้องสมุดในองค์กรต่างประเทศที่ให้การยอมรับมาตรฐานวิชาชีพจาก CILIP, UK อีกด้วย

We are now happy to inform that our Bachelor of Arts in Information Studies (Thai program) and Master of Arts in Information Studies (English program) are now accredited by the Chartered Institute of Information and Library Professional, the United Kingdom library and information association. The independent assessor, Dr Carolynn Rankin, and CILIP representative, Ms Helen Berry, visited the department on October 16-17, 2019. The accreditation is valid until October 2024.
These two programs are the first library and information programs in Thailand and Southeast Asia accredited by CILIP. Although CILIP is the UK-based professional association, it also validate programs outside the UK.
The accreditation would enhance employability of our graduates in both programs.
