On Monday, July 18, the Faculty of Arts, represented by Assistant Professor Nirada Chitrakara, Associate Dean, and Associate Professor Raksangob Wijitsopon, Head of the English Department, together with Assistant Professor Wutthuphong Laoriandee, Deputy Director of Chulalongkorn University Language Institute, met with representatives from 

Br. Andrew Gonzalez FSC College of Education De La Salle University (DLSU). Representatives from Br. Andrew Gonzalez FSC College of Education, DLSU are from the Department of English and Applied Linguistics, which are, Professor Rochelle Irene G. Lucas, Associate Dean, Dr. Shirley Dita, Incoming Chair, and Dr. Paolo Valdez, Outgoing Chair. 

The purpose of the meeting is to further mutual interests in studies and research in English language and applied linguistics and to increase international cooperation, especially among ASEAN nations. The meeting concerns possible collaborations, such as student/faculty exchanges, joint research/conference/seminars, speaker invitations, and other possibilities. The three institutions agreed upon 6 collaborative schemes: internship program (exchange program), visiting fellow program, research and publication collaboration, collaborative classes, online language laboratory tutorials, co-hosting conferences, and speaker invitation. 

As DLSU and Chula have already had the university level MoU, the agreement above will appear in an addendum which will be approved by the Presidents of both universities. This fruitful meeting is believed to result in the improvement of the quality of English language education and the study of English linguistics in both Universities.
