On Wednesday, July 27, 2023, Assistant Professor Nirada Chitrakara, Associate Dean, together with Assisitant Professor Parida Manomaiphibul, Head of the Department of Dramatic Arts, met with Professor Peter Harris, Chair of the Theatre Studies Department at the Western Galilee Academic College, to discuss the collaboration related to community theatre which will involve students and a professor from Western Galilee visiting Chula.  As the collaboration is intended to be both practice and research, it is agreed that possibility will be through student exchange program for students and research fellowship program for the professor.  It is hoped that the collaboration will lead to exchange not only academically, but also culturally, which will benefit both the participants and the audience 

Professor Harris’ interest is ‘Inter/multi-cultural dialogue in the dramatic space’. Prof. Harris has international experience and expertise in applying “theatre of the oppressed” practices for empowering human rights issues, dialogue in conflicted communities, relations in the work place, and prisoner and substance user rehabilitation.
