On January 23, 2025, a delegation from the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), led by Assistant Professor Mab Tith, met with Associate Professor Pasuree Luesakul, Associate Dean, and faculty members from the Department of English to explore opportunities for collaboration. The discussion centered on potential initiatives such as student exchange programs, visiting fellowships, and academic partnerships between the Department of English at Chulalongkorn University and the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL) at RUPP.
This marks a significant step in strengthening the longstanding relationship between RUPP and Chulalongkorn University, with this meeting being the first formal outreach to the Department of English.
The RUPP delegation included several prominent members of the Department of English at IFL: Professor Keuk Chan Narith, Head of the Department, Chan Sophal, Deputy Head, Assistant Professor Monh Sarina, Coordinator of the MA in TESOL Program, Samleng Phearun, Coordinator of the BA Program, and two junior staff members.
Representing the Faculty of Arts in welcoming the delegation were: Associate Professor Raksangob Wijitsopon, Head of the Department of English, Assistant Professor Nirada Chitrakara, Chair of the Subcommittee of the MA Program in Foreign Languages (English), and Dr. Mathurin Leelasetakul, Assistant Dean.
The meeting reflected a shared commitment to fostering academic collaboration and highlighted the potential for deeper connections between the two institutions.
