Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University and UNESCO Welcome UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany at Youth Dialogue on the Future of Education

On 16 May 2026, the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, in partnership with UNESCO, had the distinct honour of welcoming Khaled El-Enany to an international Youth Dialogue held at Room 105, Maha Chulalongkorn Building, Chulalongkorn University. The event brought together students, educators, youth representatives, and international stakeholders to discuss the future of education and the vital role of young people in shaping more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable learning systems beyond 2030.

The dialogue marked the launch of the Asia-Pacific Youth Dialogue on Education Beyond 2030. The event welcomed more than 100 distinguished guests and participants from diverse educational and professional backgrounds, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all.

A major highlight of the event was the participation of UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany, whose presence underscored the global significance of the dialogue and UNESCO’s commitment to placing youth voices at the center of educational transformation. His participation also reaffirmed the importance of international collaboration in developing education systems capable of responding to rapid social, technological, and environmental changes.

Throughout the dialogue, speakers emphasized that universities today are not merely institutions of higher learning, but also important spaces for critical reflection, intercultural exchange, and collaborative action on pressing global challenges. Discussions focused on key issues shaping the future of education, including inclusive access to learning, sustainability, mental well-being, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the empowerment of young people in educational policymaking.

Students from the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University actively contributed to the event alongside youth representatives from various backgrounds and organizations. Their participation reflected UNESCO’s broader vision of learners as co-creators of educational futures and highlighted the importance of meaningful youth engagement in shaping policies and practices beyond 2030.

The dialogue also emphasized the principle of co-creation, with participants collectively affirming that sustainable educational transformation can only emerge through cooperation among students, educators, policymakers, universities, and communities. The event fostered a spirit of shared responsibility and collective imagination regarding the future of learning in an increasingly interconnected world.

In closing remarks delivered on behalf of Chulalongkorn University, University President Wilert Puriwat reaffirmed the university’s commitment to international cooperation and youth engagement in advancing educational development. The remarks emphasized that the conversations initiated during the dialogue should continue beyond the conference room and inspire concrete action toward a more equitable, inclusive, and future-oriented global education agenda.

The event further strengthened the longstanding partnership between UNESCO and Chulalongkorn University, reflecting a shared dedication to fostering global citizenship, intercultural understanding, and sustainable educational futures for generations to come.

เมื่อวันที่ 16 พฤษภาคม 2569 คณะอักษรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยร่วมกับองค์การการศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ และวัฒนธรรมแห่งสหประชาชาติ (ยูเนสโก) จัดเสวนาเยาวชนภูมิภาคเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก ในหัวข้อ “การศึกษาในยุคหลังปี 2030”ณ ห้อง 105 อาคารมหาจุฬาลงกรณ์ โดยได้รับเกียรติจากนาย Khaled El-Enany ผู้อำนวยการใหญ่องค์การยูเนสโก ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วิเลิศ ภูริวัชร อธิการบดีจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย และรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สุรเดช โชติอุดมพันธ์ คณบดีคณะอักษรศาสตร์ เข้าร่วมการเสวนาดังกล่าว

งานเสวนาครั้งนี้มีนิสิต นักศึกษา ตัวแทนเยาวชน นักการศึกษา และผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องจากนานาประเทศหลากหลายสาขาและอาชีพ จำนวนกว่า 100 คน เข้าร่วมหารือเกี่ยวกับอนาคตของการศึกษาและบทบาทของคนรุ่นใหม่ ในการสร้างระบบการศึกษาที่ครอบคลุม มีความยืดหยุ่น และยั่งยืนในยุคหลังปี 2030 เป็นการสะท้อนความมุ่งมั่นร่วมกันในการขับเคลื่อนเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนเป้าหมายที่ 4 (SDG 4) เพื่อสร้างหลักประกันการศึกษาที่มีคุณภาพ ทั่วถึง และเท่าเทียมสำหรับทุกคน

การเข้าร่วมเสวนาของผู้อำนวยการใหญ่ยูเนสโกครั้งนี้ เน้นย้ำความมุ่งมั่นของยูเนสโกที่จะให้โอกาสเยาวชนได้แสดงความคิดเห็นในเวทีเสวนาระดับโลก ให้ผู้เรียนคือผู้ร่วมสร้างอนาคตทางการศึกษาสำหรับยุคหลังปี 2030

ตลอดการเสวนา เยาวชนผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมได้แสดงความคิดเห็นว่ามหาวิทยาลัยในปัจจุบันไม่ได้เป็นเพียงสถาบันอุดมศึกษาเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นพื้นที่สำคัญของการคิดวิเคราะห์เชิงวิพากษ์ การแลกเปลี่ยนข้ามวัฒนธรรม และการลงมือปฏิบัติร่วมกัน เพื่อรับมือกับความท้าทายระดับโลก การอภิปรายครอบคลุมประเด็นสำคัญที่กำหนดทิศทางการศึกษาในอนาคต ได้แก่ การเข้าถึงการศึกษาอย่างทั่วถึง ความยั่งยืน สุขภาวะทางจิตใจ การเปลี่ยนแปลงในยุคดิจิทัล ปัญญาประดิษฐ์ และการเปิดโอกาสให้เยาวชนมีส่วนร่วมในการกำหนดนโยบายด้านการศึกษา

หลังจบการเสวนา อธิการบดีจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ได้กล่าวปิดงานโดยเน้นย้ำความมุ่งมั่นของมหาวิทยาลัยในการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศและการมีส่วนร่วมของเยาวชน เพื่อพัฒนาการศึกษาอย่างเป็นรูปธรรมและร่วมขับเคลื่อนวาระการศึกษาระดับโลกที่มีความเท่าเทียม ครอบคลุม และมุ่งสู่อนาคต

งานเสวนาครั้งนี้นับเป็นกิจกรรมที่ช่วยกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยกับยูเนสโกที่มีมาอย่างยาวนานให้แน่นแฟ้นยิ่งขึ้น สะท้อนให้เห็นความมุ่งมั่นร่วมกันในการส่งเสริมความเป็นพลเมืองโลก การเรียนรู้ข้ามวัฒนธรรม และอนาคตทางการศึกษาที่ยั่งยืนสำหรับคนรุ่นต่อไป
