คณะอักษรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ขอแสดงความยินดีในโอกาสที่ศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.อำภา โอตระกูล อดีตอาจารย์ประจำสาขาวิชาภาษาเยอรมัน ภาควิชาภาษาตะวันตก ได้รับเครื่องอิสริยาภรณ์ Österreichisches Ehrenzeichen für Wissenschaft und Kunst (Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art) แห่งสาธารณรัฐออสเตรียจากท่านเอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐออสเตรียประจำประเทศไทย ณ ทำเนียบบ้านพักท่านเอกอัครราชทูต เมื่อวันที่ 9 มีนาคม พ.ศ. 2564 ที่ผ่านมา
ศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.อำภา ได้มีบทบาทสำคัญในการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือในด้านการศึกษาระหว่างประเทศสาธารณรัฐออสเตรียกับราชอาณาจักรไทยมายาวนาน ทั้งการได้รับเชิญเป็นวิทยากรอาคันตุกะ ณ มหาวิทยาลัยต่างๆ ในออสเตรียอย่างต่อเนื่อง และการต้อนรับคณาจารย์และนักศึกษาจากออสเตรียที่สนใจศึกษาเกี่ยวกับภาษาและวัฒนธรรมไทย นอกจากนั้น ท่านยังมีผลงานแปลวรรณกรรมออสเตรีย อาทิ วรรณกรรมเยาวชนของโวล์ฟ ฮารันท์ (Wolf Harranth) และมิรา โลเบอ (Mira Lobe) ปัจจุบัน ศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.อำภา เป็นอาจารย์พิเศษให้แก่สาขาวิชาภาษาเยอรมันและยังคงสอนรายวิชาเกี่ยวกับวรรณกรรมภาษาเยอรมันให้แก่นิสิตคณะอักษรศาสตร์
Adjunct Professor Ampha Otrakul receiving an insignia from the Republic of Austria
Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University congratulates Professor Ampha Otrakul, our former lecturer of German, on the occasion of receiving an insignia Österreichisches Ehrenzeichen für Wissenschaft und Kunst (Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art) from the Republic of Austria. The event took place at the residence of the Ambassador of Austria on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.
Professor Otrakul is one of the outstanding alumni of the Faculty of Arts. She served as Head of the German Section until retirement and still continues to provide lectures as a special lecturer. Her contribution to the teaching of German is admirable. Professor Otrakul is the founder of the German Language Teachers Association of Thailand and served for 10 years as Director and Advisor for the Thai-German Association. For more than a decade, Professor Otrakul has played an important role in promoting cooperation in language and literature between the two countries. Her academic devotion also expands to Austria. Austrian universities invited her to speak on several occasions. She also welcomed many teachers and students from Austria who were interested in Thai language and culture. With regards to publications, she is widely recognized for her remarkable work on translation of Austrian literature, such as the youth literature of Wolf Harranth and Mira Lobe. In addition to this award, Professor Otrakul’s expertise has caused her to be the recipient of other awards for her contributions to research, teaching, and other activities related to language and literature studies.
