Welcoming delegates from Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Jakarta

On Monday, April 10, 2023, Assistant Professor Nirada Chitrakara, Associate Dean, together with Assistant Professor Nureeda Salaemae, Department of Eastern Languages, welcomed six delegates from the Faculty of Adab and Humanities of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University in Jakarta, Indonesia.  Supported by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the meeting was part of their study excursions to universities in Thailand to initiate bench marking and future collaboration.  The fields of study focused in the discussion concerned the study of Bahasa Indonesia, Arabic language and literature, and Islamic English literature.

The delegates included Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, Dean, Dr. Saiful Umam, Ph.D., Former Dean, Dr. Ida Farida, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Usep Abdul Matin, Vice Dean for Students, Alumnae, and Cooperation, and Dr. Siti Amsariah, Head of Arabic Language and Literature Study Program, and Dr. Hasnul Insani Djohar, Ph.D., Head of English Literature.

Erected in 1957, Universitas Islam Negeri Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta), also widely known as UIN Jakarta, is the oldest and most reputable state Islamic university under MORA (Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia). The University is the largest Islamic University in Indonesia and is home of Ciputat School that introduced modern Islam, an Islamic perspective that accommodates worldviews and integrated Islamic values and science. The university also plays a strategic and important role in strengthening democracy, tolerance, and gender equality in Indonesia.
