Cultural collaboration with Ukraine.

On Friday, July, 8, 2022, the Faculty of Arts led by Dean Associate Professor Suradech Chotiudompant, held a meeting with representatives from the Embassy of Ukraine led by Charge d’Affaires, Oleksandr Lysak, regarding possible collaborations between the two institutions.

The meeting mainly concerned potential academic and cultural joint efforts. Focusing on Visegrad Plus (Visegrad +) countries, the Faculty and the Embassy will collaborate by setting up a Ukrainian bookshelf (physically and/or online) for students and the public to access. The Embassy and the Faculty of Arts also plan to join hands in cultural events which will involve movie screenings and discussions on topics related to cultures, arts, and heritages.

Ukraine is part of the Visegrad + countries in Central Europe. Originally, Visegrad 4, comprising Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, the alliance expanded to Visegrad + to include more countries in the region. During the recent years, the alliance has been rigorously promoting their languages and cultures to the world. Previous collaborations with the Faculty of Arts include exhibitions, movie screenings, talks, exchange programs, and scholarships.
