Collaboration with Toyo University

On Friday, May 13, 2022, the Faculty of Arts representatives met online with Professor Kazuo Takahashi, Vice President for International Affairs of Toyo University.  The purpose the meeting is to discuss possible collaboration between the two institutions. The Faculty of Arts was especially targeted because Toyo was recruiting a Thai student with high Japanese language proficiency for their exchange program. The selected student is expected to take classes in Japanese language for business communication which Toyo is famous for.  The partnership is promising because the Japanese Section, represented by Assoc. Prof. Chomnard Sitisarn and Asst. Prof. Matana Jaturasangpairoj, are confident that their students meet the requirement and can easily participate in the exchange program.  Moreover, Toyo already has a university level MoU with Chulalongkorn University, it is, therefore, easy for faculty level activities to materialize.

Established in 1887 as a philosophy academy, Toyo is located on the grounds of the Rinsho Temple in what is the Bunkyo Ward of Tokyo. Toyo offers both liberal arts and science courses. Today, Toyo is one of the largest universities in Japan.  Their research activity is conducted on a global scale under the International Research Centre for Philosophy, Research Centre for Public/Private Partnership (PPP), and the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre. There are five main campuses in Tokyo: Hakusan Campus (the main site), Akabane-dai Campus, Kawagoe Campus, Asaka Campus and Itakura Campus.  In Bangkok, Toyo has an office for their Regional Development Studies at the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University.
